Gregorian retreat
The Gregorian retreat takes place at a key time of the year, in the liturgical time of Christmas (on the passage of the New Year) when the Gregorian repertoire is well worth learning, knowing and loving, to be better transmitted afterwards. .
It is also a time when we really need to put God back at the center of our lives; finishing a year with Him and beginning the next in His presence is undoubtedly a great opportunity to walk towards holiness.
Because we do this, not for us Lord but for Your only Name and Your greatest glory!
This time of retreat is intended to be a time of rest, a time of work for those who need it, a time of formation in Gregorian chant and the liturgy in its extraordinary form, and a time of joy in the sung prayer of the 'Church. We live this retreat in a family setting and celebrate the New Year as it should be!
We train in Gregorian chant through the practice of singing the mass and the office. The chaplaincy and spiritual formation are provided by a canon from Lagrasse, the Gregorian formation by members of the Chœur Grégorien de Paris!
PROGRAM
-
Offices sung in Gregorian by the participants (extraordinary form) - lauds, mass, vespers and compline every day.
-
Silence for part of the meals, or reading aloud, friendships, exchanges, debates
